About the Village

Trancoso is a small seaside village on Bahia’s southern coast, known for its laid-back charm, natural beauty and unique atmosphere. What was once a quiet fishing village has become one of Brazil's most beloved destinations, while still preserving its authenticity and relaxed pace of life. 

At the heart of Trancoso lies the famous Quadrado, a colorful historic square lined with charming houses, boutiques, restaurants, and the iconic white church overlooking the sea. The map does not fully capture Trancoso's layout or atmosphere. The village is built on a cliff overlooking the ocean, with the Quadrado located at the top and the beaches below.
